You don't want to miss sea kayaking out of Mitchell Bay Landing. Located in Mitchell Bay, we are centrally located right in the midst of prime year-round Salish Sea activity. Our safety certified naturalist/guide ensures creative experiences while on tour, catering to the interests and skill level of each of our guests.
Launching from our own tidal shores, our focus is to introduce you to the natural wonders of marine animal and plant life surrounding us. Immerse yourself in the ecological wonders of our special maritime playground for resident orca whales, Minke whales, porpoise, harbor seals and sea lions. Each season of the year presents special attractions you won't want to miss.
We offer two levels of kayaking adventures, from the "no experience necessary" introductory tour, to the extended open water expeditions, requiring additional endurance and skills. Our focus is safety and adventure within your qualifications. Listed below are the tours that will enable you to accomplish just that!

Our INTRODUCTORY TOUR of 3 hours features the principles of kayaking, and exploring local bays/estuaries on the west side of San Juan Island. A true adventure in calm protected waters, observing shallow water marine life.

For those seeking more challenging OPEN WATER ADVENTURES, and who are in good shape for an extended paddle, we have developed a 6 hour tour of the islands' westerly reefs, including an exploration off Henry island, and a returning journey down Mosquito Pass. Time allowing, an excursion of the local bays could be included. This tour offers the best chance to observe larger established marine mammals and migratory species.

Our 3 hour SUNSET SPLENDOR is a real attraction to those seeking to witness the dramatic colors of the day's end in the Pacific NW. You begin to see the unique splendor while paddling inside the bay itself, then just outside, entering Haro Strait, you are additionally rewarded by the immensity of the full sunset over the blue waters. You'll never forget it!
